Timothy Whitney
Creative leader, based in NYC
My career has two main threads : as a Creative Exec and as a Producer/Director.
As a Creative Exec, I’ve run in-house production departments and content studios at creative agencies and tech start-ups. My strengths are in building (or re-building) multi-disciplinary teams that produce high quality work in large quantities. I like working with other leaders to figure out how my team’s creative work can drive growth and solve business problems. I love mentoring creatives and creating conditions for them to do their best work.
As a Producer/Director, I’ve developed and produced a broad range of creative content for brands and publishers, including A&E, Facebook, ESPN, KitchenAid, Yummly, Puma, Campbell’s, Sur La Table, theSkimm, Comcast, Alibaba, Eurosport, Getty Images, Scripps Network and others.
Other fun things:
I was a founding member and producer of the bi-weekly live comedy variety show, The Moon. The show ran for 5 years and did over 75 live shows at venues like 92Y, Union Pool, The Royal Oak and ImprovBoston. In 2011, it became the first independently produced comedy show live-streaming online, via Daily Motion. Over 5,000 people watched the first show!
I reached the “summit of advertising” in 2016, when I EP’d a Super Bowl commercial for Campbell’s Chucky Soup. We worked really hard on it. We worked with amazing, talented people. We hosted a big party and watched the spot air and a lot of people texted me during the game. Then it was over, and I went home and got in bed, and realized: tomorrow is Monday. I was still going to go to work in the morning.
